JESSE WILLIAMS,

MS, LPC/MHSP, CCH

MY BACKGROUND

My path to becoming a therapist wasn't a straight one. I first graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture before eventually finding my way back to school to pursue counseling. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and completed my internship at Skyland Trail, a residential treatment center in Atlanta, Georgia. With more than a decade of experience in the mental health field, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns, helping them navigate challenges, heal from past experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives.

My clinical experience includes working in both residential and outpatient settings with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges. Over the years, I have continued to pursue advanced training in trauma resolution, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), clinical hypnotherapy, Holographic Memory Resolution (HMR), Reiki, and other holistic and experiential approaches to healing.

In 2018, I moved to East Tennessee with a vision of creating a therapy practice that blends evidence-based treatment with a more holistic, nature-informed, and deeply personal approach to growth and healing.

Clients often describe me as energetic, genuine, creative, and down-to-earth. Outside of a therapy office, you'll usually find me hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, creating artwork, gardening, taking photographs, or spending time with family and friends.

MY CLIENTS

I primarily work with adults and older adolescents who feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the direction of their lives. Many of my clients are navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, OCD, life transitions, grief, identity exploration, self-esteem concerns, or spiritual and existential questions.

Trauma resolution is at the heart of my practice. I am especially passionate about helping individuals heal from painful life experiences, whether those experiences stem from childhood wounds, difficult relationships, loss, abuse, neglect, major life events, or other experiences that continue to affect the present. I also enjoy helping clients explore questions of identity, purpose, and personal growth as they reconnect with themselves and move toward a more fulfilling life.

I provide an affirming and supportive environment for individuals of all backgrounds, identities, cultures, and spiritual traditions. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe exploring who they are, what they value, and how they want to move forward.

Areas of focus include:

• Trauma and PTSD
• Anxiety Disorders, Phobias, and OCD
• Identity Exploration and Life Direction
• Self-Esteem and Self-Worth
• Spiritual and Existential Concerns
• Life Transitions and Adjustment Issues
• Grief and Loss
• LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care

Many of my clients seek therapy for OCD, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and anxiety-related challenges. I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, alongside other approaches tailored to each individual's needs.

MY APPROACH

No two people heal in exactly the same way, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I tailor each session to the unique needs of the individual sitting with me, drawing from a variety of approaches depending on what will be most helpful in that moment.

Much of my work focuses on helping clients heal from the lasting effects of trauma. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma-focused clinical hypnotherapy, both of which can help clients process difficult experiences, reduce emotional distress, and create lasting change. Rather than simply talking about painful experiences, these approaches help clients work directly with the emotional, cognitive, and physiological patterns that trauma often leaves behind.

Depending on your goals, our work may also incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety, mindfulness practices, nature-based therapy, trauma reprocessing, experiential exercises, and other holistic approaches.

I believe meaningful change happens when insight is paired with experience. My goal is not simply to help you understand why you feel the way you do, but to help you create lasting shifts in how you relate to yourself, your emotions, and your life.

MY PERSPECTIVE ON THERAPY

I believe healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been buried beneath pain, fear, expectations, trauma, or years of simply surviving.

Many people come to therapy feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure of who they are anymore. Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck while also uncovering the strengths, values, and wisdom that already exist within you.

Healing rarely follows a straight path. It can be messy, surprising, and sometimes uncomfortable. Yet it can also be deeply meaningful. My role is not to tell you who you should become, but to walk alongside you as you discover your own path forward.

My goal is not to fix you—it's to help you find your way back to yourself.

I view therapy as a collaborative and creative process. I encourage curiosity, self-reflection, and authentic exploration, and I strive to make sessions engaging, memorable, and practical. Whether we're processing difficult experiences, building new skills, or exploring deeper questions of meaning and purpose, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more empowered to create the life you want to live.

THE JOURNEY TOWARD HEALING

Take a moment to think about Dorothy's journey in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. From the very beginning, she possessed the power to return home. The ruby slippers were on her feet the entire time. Yet she didn't know it, trust it, or fully understand it.

It was only through her journey across Oz—the challenges she faced, the people she met, and the lessons she learned—that she came to recognize the power she had within her all along.

In many ways, I view therapy the same way.

I don't believe healing is something that a therapist gives to a client. I believe each person already possesses an innate capacity for growth, resilience, and healing. Yet life's experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. Trauma, loss, anxiety, self-doubt, and difficult life experiences can make it hard to trust our own inner wisdom and strengths.

My role is not to tell you who to become or which path to take. Instead, I walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself, discover what has been standing in your way, and learn to trust your own voice again.

The answers are not found in me. They are found within you. Therapy simply helps illuminate the path.
